Protect Our Water: Say No to New Data Centre Near Darwin

Laniyuk (aka Berry Springs) on Kungarakan Country which will be impacted if the data centre goes ahead
We call on the NT Government and Beetaloo Energy to immediately revoke their plans for a  hyperscale data centre at Weddell and reject any government or corporate plan that relies on fracked gas from our Countrymen.

We demand a moratorium on new fossil fuel and data centre infrastructure on Larrakia Country.

We call for Larrakia lands to be returned to Larrakia people so that we may care for those lands as we have since the beginning.

Why is this important?

Beetaloo Energy are proposing a massive $40bn data centre on our Country. The NT government has promised 185 hectares of stolen Larrakia land for a gas-fired power station and data centre that locks Darwin into decades of pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental damage.

If this data centre goes ahead, it will consume more than six times the current peak electricity demand of Darwin and Katherine, draining resources from local communities while lining the pockets of fossil fuel and Big Tech corporations.

We refuse to accept a future where our Country and cultural heritage is paved over for Big Tech and gas. We demand the protection and return of our sacred lands.

Stop the Weddell data centre. Protect Larrakia and Kungarakan lands and waters.
