Pause AI Data Centres

A small handful of tech billionaires are banking on the expansion of AI data centres to power their vision for an automated world where they roll in profits, and we all pay the price.

Their hyperscale AI data centres threaten our energy supply, our water and our air quality, and their AI models are already undermining our democracy, education systems and workforce. They don’t care as long as the money keeps coming.

This future is not inevitable - as much as these companies want you to believe. We don’t need to stand by and accept it. We can stand together and demand a world where the rules aren’t written by tech executives - where we decide the direction of this technology ourselves.

Join us and the growing movement to protect water, energy and communities from big tech billionaires and their greed.

  • Pause the Darling Downs AI Data Centre
The Darling Downs is QLD's foodbowl. Having already fought off massive fracking fields, together we can stop tech billionaires at Anthropic from building their hyperscale AI data centre near our communities, and draining our power and water supply.

  • Demand an immediate moratorium on new QLD AI data centres
Hyperscale data centres proposed across QLD threaten our agricultural land, water supply and power bills. It's not too late to stop these projects, but we have to demonstrate to the state government that the people demand a pause on these projects until the right protections are in place.

  • Stop the Hyperscale AI Data Centre in Campbellfield
The people of Campbellfield and Broadmeadows are standing up against the hyperscale AI data centre planned for the old Ford assembly line site - a 6 building monstrosity just 180m from homes. If we can make sure there are as many local objections to this AI data centre, we can demonstrate to the Victorian Government that this project has no public support, is a danger to the community, and mustn’t go ahead. It’s crucial that we pause AI and data centres now, before they get out of control, so we can get the regulations and safety precautions in place to protect all of us and our future.

  • Demand a National Moratorium on Data Centres
We believe energy and water belongs with the people. Tech oligarchs want to undermine our collective work to transition Australia to renewable energy. Data centres are expected to draw as much power from the grid by 2036 as all homes in NSW and Victoria do today. The good news is communities all over the world are fighting back against data centres and winning. Join us and the growing movement to protect water, energy and communities from big tech billionaires and their greed.

  • Protect Our Water: Say No to New Data Centre Near Darwin
Beetaloo Energy are proposing a massive $40bn data centre on Kungarakan Country near the border of Larrakia Country.  The NT government has promised 185 hectares of stolen land for a gas-fired power station and data centre that locks Darwin into decades of pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental damage.  If this data centre goes ahead, it will consume more than six times the current peak electricity demand of Darwin and Katherine, draining resources from local communities while lining the pockets of fossil fuel and Big Tech corporations.  We refuse to accept a future where Country and cultural heritage is paved over for Big Tech and gas. We demand the protection and return of sacred Larrakia and Kungarakan lands to Larrakia and Kungarakan people.  Stop the Weddell data centre. Protect Larrakia and Kungarakan lands and waters.
